Being able to go to the Japanese grocery store and bring home a bunch of seasoning bottles and a 5kg bag of rice amongst other things as if it’s the most natural thing in the world is exactly a reason why I wanted to get a #CargoBike, and today it finally happened!

#Verkehrswende jetzt!

“Could we get a set of traffic lights too? A zebra crossing, or give-way markings for motorists? Or perhaps a button for drivers to press - why is there no such thing?”
as Thalia Verkade writes in Movement - how to take back our streets and transform our lives.
The idioms used in various language to describe long weekends are fascinating, or specifically when Tuesday or Thursday (or Monday/Wednesday for some countries) is off to describe the day in between.
For example, in Germany and (German speaking) Switzerland they're called Brückentage, or "bridge days". In Austria however they are "window days".
Bridge-related themes are also used in French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and Hebrew.
Brazilian Portuguese uses either "pressed" or "hanged", and in Chile those are called "sandwich days"
In Sweden (thanks to @axbom) they're called "squeeze days", same in Dutch. I particularly love this one!
Another favourite is Chile where those are called "sandwich days", and the action of taking them is colloquially called "taking the sandwich". Indonesia also uses the sandwich idiom.
English speaking countries are rather boring with this and just seem to be using various flavours of "long weekend", similar to Polish and Slovenian.
